Logo design, Illustrator Doodle
May 18th, 2009A couple of things I’m working on. The top logo is work in progress for a range of handmade corsets, the bottom picture is a bit of a doodle I might stick up as a vector when I’ve finished.

Here’s a few photos I’ve taken over the last couple of days. I figured I’d start to post a couple of images a week since I’ve been trying to make time for the camera. The shot of the decks was for Carl at Subcult Techno.
Eclectic bunch aren’t you? I’m just going through my Google Analytics to see which keywords I can boost. It’s interesting to see the range of searches that bring traffic here. I’m slowly crawling up for “Free Vectors” and “Free png Icons”, which is good because I’m planning another couple of sets. However, I wasn’t expecting to get anywhere for “Interbook” (because of this post) “Yorkshire Waterfalls” or “Ingleton”. It does go to show how powerful a well thought out H1 tag can be.
I’m on the first page of Google for Thorton Force because of this post. A bit unexpected but good nonetheless. The official Yorkshire Dales site and yorkshire-dales.com both need looking at, they should be ranking higher in the natural listings than they do at the moment for simple keywords like “Yorkshire”, “Ingleton” and “White Scar caves”. I’ve been out and about in the Yorkshire Dales the last couple of weeks taking pictures so chances are I’m going to be writing about some more Yorkshire related stuff in the future. If you run either of the above sites and you’ve clicked through to my blog from a natural Google listing, I’ll be happy to offer my services. You can contact me here.
I’m getting a lot of spam to go with that traffic though. Luckily I have any comments set to be moderated first. Any legit comment will be approved. Moderation’s a must unfortunately. Having a large amount of comments per article may make my blog look more popular than it is at first glance but I doubt anyone who stops by here would be too interested in cheap Viagra. Lets face it, most of us have the opportunity to buy that each time we open our inboxes.
Now, I need to focus on getting to the front page for Pete. Pete Doherty’s dominating the natural listings at the moment but oddly if I search for, waste of space, tit or cock, he doesn’t come up.
Spent Sunday taking pictures at Aysgarth Falls in the Yorkshire Dales. I actually managed to get a few shots I was happy with, much more than the normal 5-6 per 100 shots I seem to get. We did spend 4 hours there though and I managed to fill one SDHC card.
As usual, you can see more on my Flickr. It might be worth checking back at some point this week because I’ve only post-processed about half of the shots I picked out.
I’ve been working on a set of vector icons, you can use them however you like. Ideal for blogs, the icons come in two flavours and 3 colours. I’ve included vector files in this pack so you can edit colours and scale them as you see fit. If you like them, don’t forget to Digg or Stumble this post!
Just added my Sitemap to Google Webmaster Tools. Take that Pete Morley Singer/Songwriter.
Adding a sitemap is s a pretty simple process and Google will like you for it. Simply visit xmlSitemaps, scroll down to the form field and put in your website’s URL. Once the sites done it’s thing, you’re given the choice of downloading several versions of your sitemap. Download both the uncompressed XML and HTML versions, name them both “sitemap” and save them in your site’s root directory.
Next, add a link to the HTML sitemap in the footer of each of your website’s pages. After you’ve saved up, upload everything, making sure that the XML sitemap is uploaded into your root directory.
Head over to Google Webmaster Tools. Make an account/sign in. Add your website, then once it’s verified, click onto your Dashboard. Click the “Add Sitemap” link and link the website to the XML sitemap you uploaded into your root. You’re done!
